Eat: Winter Picnics – Roast Beef, Pickled Beetroot, Kale and Cheddar Baguettes

After a long walk in the winter countryside there is nothing better than finding the perfect spot to stop and refuel with a picnic. We filled French baguettes with roast beef, pickled beetroot, cheddar and kale (using only the tender leaves and not the stalks). Wrapped in baking paper and tied with string and rosemary they look as good as they taste. A thermos filled with rich hot chocolate and soft marshmallows is the perfect sweet treat to warm up and provide the energy you need for the rest of the afternoon.
