Approximately 20 minutes drive from Queenstown in New Zealand’s South Island Otago region lies the pretty and historic mining town of Arrowtown on the banks of the Arrow River. This beautiful small town boasts lovely river walks, historic buildings to explore, quaint cafes and shops lining a pretty main street. We visited in early autumn as the leaves were only just beginning to change, however the locals tell us that it is one of the most spectacular places in the region to see autumn leaves in all of their glory later in the season. We recommend a day trip or weekend to take advantage of everything the town has to offer. For more information visit Arrowtown.com
ELE tip- hire a bike in town to explore the beauty of the surrounding river trails.

Wonderful pics!
Wow factor!! Simply beautiful
Lovely photos! I’ve only visited Arrowtown in deepest winter during the ski season. It’s still stunning, but so cold! Did you manage to try the sticky buns at Provisions? They’re legendary and worth the trip for those alone x
We did, we arrived when they were almost closing and got the last few! Delicious
Gorgeous photos with such intense color!
I just love that New Zealand is the home of Thunderpants. 🤗
