A visit to Sydney wouldn’t be complete without a trip to famous Bondi Beach and the iconic Icebergs Club. Perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, not much beats swimming under the hot Australian sun with the ocean waves crashing next to you and panoramic views of Bondi Beach.
The baths are a little slice of Australian history, with the club opening in 1929. The Icebergs complex features a large lap pool, sauna and a smaller children’s pool and is open to the public year-round. In addition there is a dining room, bar and terrace which are perfect to quench your thirst or satisfy your hunger after a long session in the pool.
The pools are open year round, however note that they close on Thursdays for cleaning. Entry in to the pools is $7 for adults and $5 for children, which includes access to the sauna. Towels are also available for hire. The club is open 7 days a week from mid-morning until late, and is a great spot to enjoy a drink when the sun goes down.
We recommend a weekday visit which will be quieter than the weekend, or better yet try a bracing mid-winter morning swim (it may be a little cold but it is sure to set you up for the day.) If that seems a step too far you can always opt for a burger and beer at the bar watching others slog it out in the pool!
