One of the best (and healthiest!) ways to explore the countryside in Australia is by bike. We recently spent a few days cycling around the quaint and historic towns in Victoria’s Macedon Ranges region. We were rewarded with beautiful scenery, historic buildings and miles of gently undulating countryside. The region is approximately one hour from Melbourne and is an easy day trip. There are plenty of great cafes, shops and wineries in the region if you need a quick pit stop or pack a picnic and find a shady spot under one of the beautiful old gum trees.

I’m based in Rushworth, Victoria. I don’t get on the bike as often as I’d like to! I drive through Romsey / Lancefield on the odd occasion, beautiful scenery!

  2. That is a lovely old grain store! There are some real gems in rural Victoria.

  3. Beautiful photos!
