Olivia Newton-John’s Most Iconic Style Moments

When we heard the sad news earlier this week that Olivia Newton-John had passed away, like most of the world we mourned the passing of an Australian film and music icon.

Olivia sound tracked so many of our childhoods, from Grease and Xanadu on repeat to the 80s racy Physical, she was the perfect mix of sweet girl-next door meets edgy pop icon.

Paying tribute to one and only ONJ, we round up some of her most iconic style moments over the years.

1. 60s Style

Before the fame of Grease and Physical, Olivia was a 60s babe rocking darker locks, mini skirts and suede boots.

2. Xanadu

When Xanadu hit cinemas in 1980 the obsession the bizarre 40s/80s plot lines and roller skates was matched only by Olivia’s whimsical outfits. Pure magic.

3. Pink Sparkle Bodysuit

Honestly there is nothing about this bodysuit we are not obsessed with. It may look more at home in the ice skating rink than on a red carpet but we are all for it! Bonus points for ONJ’s ash blonde locks and eyeshadow.

4. Knit Mini

A winter white knit mini paired with shiny sheer tights and blue shadow, Olivia we want your winter clubbing look.

5. Grease is the word

When Sandy stepped out in this number it was the ultimate transformation outfit and set our lifelong obsession with makeovers. Olivia has famously explained how she was sewn into the 50s faux snakeskin pants, that we still covet to this day. Plus, while it’s totally inappropriate in 2022, pretend smoking never looked so hot on anyone since James Dean.

6. Soft glam at the Academy Awards

Soft fluffy locks, pale peachy-pink sparkles and rosy cheeks, Olivia was everyone’s glamorous girl next door at the 50th Academy Awards, John Travolta at her side didn’t hurt.
