1. Petra

Petra is one of the seven wonders of the world and become a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. These ancient ruins were once the home of the Nabatean Kingdom before the Romans took it as their own in 106 CE. This trip to Jordan will take you to the Southern Desert, an area known for its beautiful pink sandstone cliffs, which are a sight to behold when you visit.

2. Machu Picchu

This Inca city has existed since around 1500 AD and sits high up on a mountain that offers stunning views of the land around it. Machu Picchu was long undiscovered but in 1911, was found by Hiram Bingham III. Last year, more than 979,000 people travelled to Peru to take on the challenge of climbing 2430 meters to witness the magical spectacle that is Machu Picchu.

3. The Pyramids of Giza

Experience the mystery by visiting these fascinating creations in Egypt. Much of the world still doesn’t understand how these were built and that only adds to the spectacle once you arrive. While you’re here, you’ll get to see three large and three smaller pyramids as well as the Great Sphinx sculpture – each presents you with a fantastic photo opportunity.

4. Rome

This historic city in Italy is filled with brilliant landmarks that any history enthusiast should want to see. The Colosseum and Pantheon will likely be high on your list of things to see here but Rome also offers a wonderful city centre to explore too. Taste the brilliant food, wine and shopping experiences that can be found around most corners of the city.

5. Angkor Wat

Sitting in Cambodia, Southeast Asia, this is one of the most iconic landmarks that the region has to offer. Angkor Wat is filled with religious monuments and temples like Bayon, Ta Prohm, and Angkor Thom. You can experience this temple complex in many different ways too with cycling tours being one of the most popular. These tend to be with a guide too, which means you can get all the information you need to truly appreciate it.
