Tea and Toast Martini Recipe

Tea and toast in a martini? Yes, please! We are big martini fans here at ele and love to mix it up occasionally with a spin on the original. This Tea and Toast Martini from the team at Yorkshire Tea is a nod to one of the all-time classic parings. Add a little gin and presto, you have winning cocktail on your hands.

The trick is to make sure you infuse the gin for at least 2 hours before you plan to make the martini.

Ingredients (serves 1)

  • 60ml iced Yorkshire Tea (see below)
  • 60ml Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin (or any good quality gin you have available)
  • 2 teaspoons marmalade
  • 1 x slice of well done toast
  • 30ml lemon juice
  • Ice

Equipment

  • Chilled Martini Glass

Method

Toast infused gin: Prepare a slice of well-done toast and steep in gin in a lidded container or jar for minimum 2 hours. Discard the toast squeezing any excess gin.

Iced Tea: pour 500ml of boiling water over 3 Yorkshire Tea teabags. Brew for 4 minutes before discarding the bags. Leave to cool and store in the fridge until required.

Add the iced tea, toast infused gin, lemon juice and marmalade with plenty of ice to a cocktail shaker.

Shake vigorously for around 30 seconds.

Remove your martini glass from the fridge just before you are ready to serve. Strain into the glass. Enjoy!
