3 Looks We Have Loved on Kate Middleton This Summer

The Duchess of Cambridge rarely puts a sartorial foot wrong and this European summer has been no exception. Kate’s style is ladylike and always event appropriate, but she manages to inject a little fun, nostalgia and colour into her looks while maintaining a very royal image. Here are three looks we have loved on Kate this summer.

1. Alessandra Rich at Royal Ascot

When Kate turned up in this cream and brown polka dot dress at Royal Ascot we were immediately reminded of Julia Robert’s memorable polo dress in Pretty Woman and Princess Diana’s polka dot ensemble at another horse racing event, the Epsom Derby in 1986.

In an endearing nod to Diana, Kate accessorised her polka dots with the late Princess’ pearl and diamond earrings and a similar style hat. The Alessandra Rich dress flattered the Duchess beautifully and was the perfect mix of prim, polished and a little bit fun.

2. Alexander McQueen Trouser Suit

A summer suit in a blush shade of pink? Yes please! Kate kept it cool and casual in her look for a government roundtable she hosted for her work on the Early Years sector. We loved that in a sea of navy suits, the Duchess stood out in a pale pink, summer-ready ensemble by Alexander McQueen.

3. Roksanda at Wimbledon

In a field of Wimbledon green and white, Kate made a spectacular entrance is her sunshine yellow Roksanda midi dress. This wasn’t the dress’ first outing, as the Duchess first wore the dress in Jamaica on the Royal Caribbean tour. It was the vibrant yellow of this dress that really stood out on both occasions, offset by the Duchess’ brown locks and summer glow. Read more about this look here.
