5 – 7 PM
I start my routine by preparing a wholesome, delicious dinner from the JSHealth App after a busy work day. My favourite at the moment is the One Pan Honey Soy Chicken!
7 – 9 PM
After dinner, I love to wind down in a bath infused with lavender and Epsom salts. The relaxing aroma coupled with the therapeutic salts creates a sensory experience that rejuvenates both body and mind.
At this time (around 8:30 pm), I switch my phone and social media off. This intentional disconnection from the digital chaos allows me to connect more deeply with myself, carving out a sacred space for quiet reflection.
9 – 11 PM
All social media is fully switched off! I take the JSHealth Advanced Magnesium+ or PM+ Sleep + Calm Mind formula to prepare myself for a restful night of sleep! The final step in my nightly ritual that always has me waking up feeling refreshed and ready the next morning.
Are you a night owl or a morning lark?
Definitely a morning gal! Deep, restorative sleep the night before is key. When I’m well-rested, I can hit the ground running.
Jessica Sepel, Founder of JSHealth
What is the one thing that you do that always guarantees a good night’s sleep?
It’s hard to pick just one – all the steps in my nighttime ritual are so important! First, taking our Advanced Magnesium+ before bed helps my muscles to relax and signals my body that it is time to wind down. It really relaxes my nervous system. I also try to switch off social media by 8:30pm at the latest. The blue light emitted from screens can disrupt our sleep cycles, so giving my eyes and mind a break from the constant stimulation really helps.
Finally, a wholesome, healthy dinner allows me to digest comfortably and drift off to sleep more easily.
Do you use any technology to track your sleep patterns?
No, I don’t use any sleep tracking apps. For me, the most important indicator of a good night’s sleep is simply how I feel when I wake up. If I’m well-rested and energised, then I know I slept well. If not, I might adjust my routine a bit the next day – maybe an earlier bedtime!
Does your wind-down routine change between weeknights and the weekend?
On weekdays, I do try to stick to a consistent sleep schedule as much as possible to maintain a good rhythm for my body. On the weekends I am more flexible with when I go to bed and when I wake up. The key for me is being kind to myself and allowing some flexibility in my healthy routines. Living the Healthy Life is all about balance!
