I visited Ibiza and Menorca to shoot a series of new season campaigns for VRG GRL and fell in love with the Balearic Islands. This trip was the first time I’ve visited and it was unlike any other European destination I’ve been to. It was a wonderfully peaceful and rural feeling place. Long stretches of untouched countryside but right next to the most beautiful beaches and hidden swimming spots.

I stayed at Los Enamorados Ibiza, a boutique hotel that embodied everything about the island. The rooms were cool and eclectic, the restaurant served delicious, local Mediterranean food and the hotel led to a quiet, sandy bay. We ate the most amazing Paella at El Carmen – I found the restaurant was a peaceful place to unwind with a local wine and watch Ibiza’s famous sunsets with my husband, Cale. And my favourite beach was Cala D’Hort, a hidden gem which overlooks the mysterious islet Es Vedra.

There is a beautiful old town hidden inside the old castle walls in Eivissa (Ibiza’s main city), this was amazing to explore with markets and traditional cobbled streets. Ibiza is stunning and although it has a reputation for big clubs and partying, away from that part of the island is so peaceful; perfect for enjoying slow warm days in the sun.

In Menorca I stayed at Fontenille Torre Vella, an authentic Finca with a small number of rooms and suites set in the countryside. It was everything you can imagine from a Balearic hideaway, washed white architecture with driftwood and traditional stone walls, a deep blue private pool and a boutique restaurant serving Catalan cuisine. We also discovered Es Cranc Fornells which served the most amazing fish and seafood, and we enjoyed our daily coffees at Mónica Colomar in Ciutadella Menorca. A dip in the ocean is a must for me after a VRG GRL shoot and we loved Cala Mitjana, a secluded little bay which we found out about through a local recommendation.

My trip to the Balaeric Islands gave me the perfect opportunity to wear pieces from VRG GRL’s new season collections – I had these pieces on high rotation. VRG GRL Telepatia Bikini Top and Bottoms in Matisse print for beach days, with the VRG GRL Heat and Haze Sarong.

Our linen pieces to stay cool on shoot days, I loved the VRG GRL Flora On Film Linen Shirt and Slow Dancing Linen Midi Skirt. The VRG GRL il Castello Linen Smock Dress was great for wandering through Ibiza old town, too.

I was lucky to be on this trip with my husband Cale, and I packed a few of my favourite VRG GRL new season dresses for our dinner dates. The Paradiso Maxi Dress in Sunflower was made for Euro Summer dressing.

These pieces are from VRG GRL’s two Spring collections, Heat & Haze, and Bloom, available now at vrggrl.com
