With the party season gearing up across the globe, we will be fliting from work to after 5 to weekend lunches and evening soirees. Is there a better time, I ask, to show off in this-seasons must have sparkle, shimmer and shine pieces and dance the day or night away??
These days metals are not exclusive to skin tone – I only wear gold etc. Mix up your metals, wear sequins in the daytime and shimmer from head to toe, it brings so much sparkle and fun to our fashion lives!! As we saw at the SS20 show of Akris, metals are a perfect neutral tone – we watched as the models drifted down the runway way in sparkle outfits perfect for any day to night look.
The main message is this, do not be afraid to shine! Read on for all my fave styles and how to dress them up and down for different occasions.
I adore this classic wrap dress from Country Road. Great for all body shapes as it will give shape in the waist and skim off the rest of the body. Light, fun and flirty. Perfect for an evening teamed with strappy heels and some simple jewellery. For a daytime look, keep it simple with a pair of flat strappy sandals. Perfect for a fancy lunch.
Mixing up coloured stones in festive shades is a great way to add interest to a simple outfit. Earrings don’t always have to be big to have drama. I love the look of small details when styling an outfit. It piques interest and can complement a look without talking over. Just a small gift will do, she said 😉
The chicest way to style up a simple LBD for the evening or add interest to a cute shorts or pants look? Style them up with this ultra glamorous sequin blazer. The look is subtle but extremely stylish. Add a red lip for a more daring vibe.
Forget the little black mini, why not make a festive impact with this classic yet super statement silver mini. Silver is fast becoming a “new neutral” in our fashion lives as it pairs back with everything. This style will be a classic in your wardrobe for years to come.
Olga Berg is known for her affordable and stylish clutches. This design will carry you from day to nigh events. Style it up with a classic jeans and tee look or finish off a party look. Having a go-to metallic clutch in your closet is a definite must have not only at party season but all year round.
Draping in all the right places the Kimono dress is extreme comfort and high style. With its soft buttery sheen, the gold will set the tone for the look, team up with strappy flat sandals and dangly earrings for a glam resort look or sling on some heels and dance the high away. Great for almost any body shape, this will become one of your go to dresses for manyoccasions.
Own the night styled up in one of our fave Australian Designers, Shona Joy. You can only achieve joy and hippieness in this sparkle number. With its 70’s vibe and flattering cut, wear it with a long, mini or midi skirt, shorts or wide leg pants, heels or flats. It really is a versatile party top, not for the faint hearted!
Being a big fan of a block heel this style to me is everything! Its fashion, comfort and cool all rolled in to one, The ankle strap is sitting in a very flattering place and the design is both elegant and statement at the same time. Shoe girls gather round!
Cut out features are one of the biggest trends this season, aside from sparkle of course. With the cut out sitting in just the right spot this dress is extremely flattering as well as giving that little peak a boo of skin which adds a sexy vibe while remaining all class. With a dress like this you don’t need much more going on. Keep it simple with a strappy sandal in a heel or flat and team it up with some festive or simple jewels depending on your occasion.
Classic rose gold for the win. This shape and style will flatter many face styles and may be just the right accessory to finish off a stylish outfit or hide last night’s fun at breakfast. This party season go glam with your eyewear.
Neckwear has had some major trend shifts in the last decade, we have seen big and chunky to the finest of styles make an apprearance. The current Modas Operandi is the pendant look. I am 100% of the mind that jewellery should be the personal touch that finishes an outfit but if there was one trend that I am absolutely loving in jewellery this would be it.
The silk skirt is a big trend at the moment, and I find the midi cut stylish and is able to be dressed down with a tshirt and sneakers or dressed up with a cami and heels. The bias cut of this skirt is super flattering for those with curvier legs and elegant for those blessed with great pins. A great item that will cross over many occasions.
Who doesn’t love a pair of slides! Mara and Mine have stepped it up, pun absolutely intended, with this chic version of the classic slide. Wear with cropped jeans or shorts for a casual look that needs a little elevating. On a causal summer night, here in Australia, you can still look stylish while embodying the resort glam look. Love them.
