Educate Your Team

From your CEOS to your interns, you have to do your bit to make sure that everyone within your business understands your security policies. At the end of the day, if you don’t have the knowledge you need then you may find that you end up putting your company at risk. Send your people on a security course if you don’t feel as though they are as knowledgeable as they should be and also take the time to let people understand how much a breach is going to cost you. If you do this you will be able to show them how important it is to follow company policy. You can also teach them how little mistakes can have big consequences, so try and keep that in mind if you can.

Think of the physical security for your building

While there is a lot of focus on the digital side of security for your business, you also need to ensure the physical side is secure. It’s a good idea to put up a chain link fence which is a practical and economical solution for security, boundaries and partitions. You can also add in CCTV, consider hiring a security firm and having a sign-in desk where employees need a card to swipe in order to get in.

Update Your Passcodes and Replace Your Locks

If someone has lost a key to your business premises then don’t just blow it off. You have to make sure that you change the locks and that you also take the time to update any keypad passcodes you may have. If you can do this then you will soon find that it is easier for you to keep your confidence in your security high. If you have lost a key then be sure to hire trusty locksmiths. When you do, you can count on them to give you the help you need and you can also feel assured knowing that any security issues are going to be taken care of.
