Creating epic travel images in amazing locations is all in a day’s work for talented travel couple Johannes Richter and Vivian Velle of @JoVi_Travel. We catch up with them to find out what a day in their lives looks.

Of course, a typical day is not easy to describe, because due to the travelling, hardly one day looks like the other. But when we have arrived at a place, a typical day looks as follows.
Morning Routine
We usually get up very early to be at the place where we want to take pictures at before sunrise. This is important, because the light is the best and most of the time there are no other tourists around who might run in front of our camera. Depending on how early the sunrise is at the place where we are and how long the journey from our accommodation takes, it can be 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning when we leave our accommodation. Often our followers ask us how we manage that there are no other people in our pictures. That is our secret! Tourists usually do not get up that early!

During the Day Routine
Around late morning we are usually back at our accommodation and do office work like answering messages and comments on Instagram, uploading stories, answering emails, travel and content planning. Before lunch we do a one hour workout with resistance bands that we can train with anytime and anywhere.
Lunch is usually a bit later at about 2pm, because we do intermittent fasting, more precisely the warrior diet, where you only have one big meal once a day. If you push the meal as far back as possible and are busy all morning, you usually don’t get hungry in the evening and this kind of diet is much easier to implement than it sounds. We prefer this type of diet not only because it helps us stay in shape, but also because of its health benefits on the heart, brain, and other organs. We try to have a high protein meal and keep meat consumption low (Vivi is vegetarian) to reduce our carbon footprint. What we eat varies a lot since we are always in a different country and we want to try all the lovely local dishes wherever we are. So when we were in India we had some nice fresh curry almost every day or in Egypt & Jordan we loved to have crispy falafel with hummus just to give a few examples. We also enjoy cooking ourselves and preparing our own meal with mostly organic fresh ingredients, unfortunately this is not possible while traveling as we usually do not have a kitchen at the places we stay at.

Evening Routine
After our late lunch we tend to spend another few hours in front of our laptops before we leave late afternoon to another photo location in time for sunset. By doing this we can capture the beautiful sunset tones and sit down after we are done to calm down after a busy day enjoying the blue hour.
When we come back we often go back to the PC for photo editing or other travel planning. We usually go to bed around 11 or 12pm.

Even if some people at home still think that we spend the whole day relaxing at the beach, we are working more than we would in a regular job in Germany. But we are always at the most beautiful places in the world and enjoy what we do, so we wouldn’t want to have it any different.

It’s always interesting to find out about other people’s lives, thank you.
It definitely is, particularly when you travel the world for a living!
Do they click the photos by themselves?
Hi, they do! we imagine it is a lot of work setting up with tripods etc
