When I first heard about BioRePeel, I was intrigued, especially by the promise of glowing, refreshed skin without the intense downtime that usually comes with chemical peels. So naturally, when I had the chance to trial it at Gisborne Skin Clinic (with the ever-lovely Laura, one half of the Sims twins), I jumped at it.
If you haven’t met Laura yet, she’s the kind of skin therapist who makes you feel completely at ease. She’s passionate, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about what she does, which made me feel totally confident going into my first BioRePeel session.

What Is BioRePeel?
BioRePeel is a next-generation, bi-phase chemical peel designed to treat a whole host of skin concerns—everything from acne, congestion, and scarring, to rosacea, pigmentation, fine lines, enlarged pores, and sun damage. It’s powered by 35% TCA, alongside five other acids, antioxidants, and amino acids, which work together to exfoliate the skin, stimulate collagen and elastin, and leave you looking fresh, clear, and radiant.
The best part? It does all of this with very little downtime. No hiding away from the world for a week under a peeling mask.
The Treatment Experience
The treatment itself was super straightforward, Laura thoroughly cleansed my skin, applied the BioRePeel solution, and walked me through every step. It tingled a little (as expected with peels), but nothing too intense.
The experience at Gisborne Skin Clinic goes far beyond your average peel. As the BioRePeel works its magic on your skin, the indulgence continues with a soothing scalp massage that quite literally lulls you into a state of blissful tranquillity.
Then comes one of my favourite parts, LED light therapy. While your skin drinks in the healing glow (which stimulates collagen, elastin and deep hydration), Laura begins The Sims Twins’ signature massage, a unique blend of European, Shiatsu, and Parisian techniques. It’s not just your arms or your shoulders—it’s a dual-sided, full-body experience, with flowing, rhythmic strokes that target tension, ease fluid retention, and unravel knots (especially around the neck and shoulders, where most of us carry stress). It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before, relaxation and renewal at a whole new level.
After the LED phase, Laura finishes with their sculptural facial massage, a lifting, depuffing technique refined through exclusive Parisian training. I could see the difference in my jawline and cheekbones immediately, it’s like a natural contour, but better.
Right after the treatment, my skin looked hydrated and felt really clean and smooth, very mild redness, no irritation and a lovely glow.
The Peeling Phase
Now here’s what to expect in the days that follow. For me, days 3 to 5 were when the peeling kicked in. It wasn’t crazy—more of a light flaking and dryness around my nose, mouth and chin. Think gentle exfoliation rather than a full-on snake-shedding moment.
By day 8, though? My skin looked incredible. Clear, smooth, and noticeably more radiant. That healthy glow that makes you want to skip foundation and just rock moisturiser and SPF.
Who Is BioRePeel For?
Honestly, anyone looking to refresh their skin without committing to major downtime. If you’re dealing with acne, scarring, pigmentation, congestion, or early signs of ageing, this treatment could be a total game-changer. It’s also suitable for all skin types and tones, which makes it even more versatile.
Whether you’ve got a special event coming up, want to maintain that post-summer skin health, or just need a reset after a breakout, BioRePeel is one of those treatments that fits beautifully into a busy lifestyle.
How Many Treatments Do You Need?
While you’ll definitely notice a glow after just one session, it is recommended that you have a course of 4–6 treatments spaced out over a few weeks for the best, long-lasting results tailored to your skin type and goals.
The Bottom Line
BioRePeel is a worthwhile investment if you’re after visible, lasting results without the drama of a deep peel. It’s now one of my go-to treatments when I want to reset and recharge my skin, especially with the expert touch of Laura and the team at Gisborne Skin Clinic.
If you’re curious about trying it, I highly recommend booking in. Your skin will thank you.
