Do You Like What Your Front Lawn Says About You?

The back garden is yours to do with as you please. You could build a rocket ship back there for all we know – if there’s a good fence, you and your tallest neighbours would be the only ones to see it! Make it comfortable, pave it over, it’s up to you.

The front lawn, on the other hand, has a lot of expectations for it. You can still do what you want with it, but there’s also a good chance you’ll get a note from an angry neighbour about how much the grass needs mowing! That’s why you should think about what your front lawn says about you, and whether or not you agree with its assessment.

You’re a Little Wild

Do you have a front lawn that’s covered in wild thorns, long grass, and who knows what other kind of flowers underneath the surface? Maybe a daffodil crops up every now and then, letting you know you’re in the midst of the spring season? If so, it’s clear to those who walk past that you’re a little wild.

Whether you’re a fan of gardening or not, you don’t mind it when things get a little chaotic and hard to handle. In fact, you might even like this look above all else! And you’re not the only one. Wild front lawns have more bugs and critter life than lawns that have been mowed and manicured.

You’re Organised, Neat, and Tidy

A lot of front lawns have been trimmed within an inch of their life, with potted plants or a trellis framing the front door, and a lovely pathway leading from the front gate. This often tells passersby that the people living here like things to be neat and tidy. It suggests you take an orderly approach to all facets of life, including work and relationships, and you take pride in keeping your surroundings organised.

If you like the idea of making this impression, get the lawn mower out, buy some new seedlings, and contact some local pavers to curate the best scenic pathway for you.

You’re Not the Biggest Fan of Nature

Does your front lawn look a lot more grey and brown than the others on this list? Would you describe it more as a ‘concrete jungle’ than anything that’s actually nature friendly? Then we can immediately tell you’re not the biggest fan of nature. Instead of struggling with real grass, consider installing fake grass for a vibrant, low-maintenance solution.

Lots of people like to spread shingle over their front lawn areas to prevent weeds from peeking through, but this also comes at the cost of destroying other kinds of plant life as well. Of course, you might just be a bit busy to plant anything or change the lawn to be more environmentally friendly, but you could also quite like it this way at the same time. Either way, you’re super busy and a little no-nonsense, and that’s OK.
