On the very southern end of Queensland’s Gold Coast in Australia is Coolangatta Beach, a relaxed beachside suburb. Blessed with good weather year round and surrounded by the sheltered bays and surf beaches of Greenmount, Snapper Rocks and Duranbah it is the perfect escape for surfers, families and anyone seeking an escape that is quieter and less-glitzy than well known Surfers Paradise. There are numerous accommodation options in the area and the airport is very close making it is the perfect weekend escape for visitors from the cooler southern states. Like most beach destinations in Australia, school holidays are busy so try to visit out of season or mid-week for a quieter, more peaceful escape.
Lovely beach. We went to Florida last Christmas. It was nice, but it didn’t seem like Christmas as it is winter here and we expect Christmas to be cold.
Beautiful beach.:) wow!!
