Gabrielle Singh is the founder of Ivyos Clinic and is also a mum of 3, so between running her business and her family life she’s super busy. She says one of the most important factors for healthy skin is sleep, so she prioritizes her evening routine to ensure she sleeps well and feels rested.
Gabrielle has nine years’ experience in the beauty industry, dedicating herself to helping clients rediscover their confidence through the treatments she offered at her (now sold) clinic, GC Skin Boutique. Shortly after launching her clinic, Gabrielle took her passion a step further by developing her own skincare line, Cosmology Skincare. This was born out of a desire to offer high-quality, effective products that help women achieve radiant, healthy skin.
In 2025 Cosmology rebranded as Iyvos. Grounded in evidence-based results and a commitment to self-discovery and self-love, Ivyos is where innovation meets timeless skincare. We catch up with Gabrielle and find out how she winds down in the evening.
5-7PM
This is usually the time I start to shift from work mode into mum mode. I’ll finish up anything urgent for Iyvos, then it’s straight into catching up with the kids after school. Most afternoons we’ll watch a movie together, or now that the weather’s warming up, we’ll head outside for a swim. It’s always a busy part of the day, but it grounds me. I try to slow things down and be present with them because up until this point, I’ve usually been non-stop. My day is filled with meetings, financial planning, marketing, and everything else in between. I still wear so many hats in the business, so this part of the day helps me take a breath and just enjoy being with my family.
7-9PM
After dinner, I start winding things down around the house. I’ll usually get the kids bathed and settled first and we may watch a movie. Once everything’s calm, that’s when I take a bit of time for myself. I like to have a warm shower and do my skincare routine closer to my bedtime as it helps me fully switch off. I go through the full Iyvos ritual, starting with our Hydrating Milk Cleanser, then layering either the Active A or B Serum, followed by the Collagen Moisturiser. If my skin needs it, I’ll use the Resurfacing Serum after cleansing or finish with the Restorative Oil. It’s such a calming part of my night and gives me a moment to reconnect before winding down with my husband.
9-11PM (or beyond)
I like to have my kids in bed by 8:30 that’s non-negotiable with me, and then this allows me to have some time with my husband, we normally will have a series we have been watching so we will lay in bed and watch an episode before lights are out.
I have recently been using a lavender silk eye mask to help me sleep because normally I can be a light sleeper. I always have work on my mind so it can be difficult to switch off and this little step has made the biggest difference in my sleep. It is weighted and it just instantly calms me and helps keep my eyes from flickering throughout the night and waking myself up. If I’m working on a launch or feeling creative, I sometimes stay up later than I should, but I do my best to prioritise rest and recovery as I know how important good quality sleep is for our skin.
Are you a night owl or a morning lark?
Surprisingly, I haven’t always been a morning person. Back in Australia, I was definitely more of a night owl. Something would just switch on around 3pm and suddenly I’d be completely alert, it just felt like my productivity sweet spot.
But since moving to Dubai (which is ironic because everyone here stays up late, don’t even think about booking dinner before 9pm unless you want to eat alone), I’ve become an early riser. This shift happened mainly because I still run my business in Australia and need to work with my staff in their time zone.
I’ve had to adapt quickly to show up for my team and make the most of my time. Now I’m typically awake around 4am, which I still sometimes can’t believe myself.
What is the one thing that you do that always guarantees a good night’s sleep?
Honestly, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference for me. A chamomile tea, a warm shower (but not too early, I like it close to bed) and doing my skincare routine really helps me switch off. I also use a weighted lavender sleep mask most nights, and it just instantly calms me. It’s like my body knows, okay, it’s time to rest now.
Do you use any technology to track your sleep patterns?
No, I don’t, but I probably should. I definitely go through patches where my sleep is all over the place, especially when work is busy, and my mind just won’t switch off. And I know it might sound a bit woo woo, but I really feel the full moon, I swear I get maybe two hours of proper sleep when it’s one of those nights.
Does your wind-down routine change between weeknights and the weekend?
Yes, definitely. Weeknights are more structured with the kids and getting everything sorted for the next day. I keep things simple and stick to my routine, my husband knows this is my time and doesn’t mess with my routine and leaves me to it because it’s what sets me up for the next day. On weekends, I try to slow down. If we’re staying in, I’ll take a longer shower, do a face mask, and just enjoy not rushing. From Friday afternoon to Sunday, we tend to go with the flow and have fun, no real routine. The only thing that stays the same is I never skip my skincare, morning and night, not even after a late night out.
