What is your favourite life hack?
Automation! I am the queen of automating things. My light bulbs are all set to work on my phone so I can turn them on before I’m home. My oven can be turned on as I leave work so it’s warm when I arrive and can heat up dinner and my underfloor heating is all on a timer to warm up the bathroom in winter.
What is one quick life hack you use to stay organised?
Make your bed each day or you’ll feel disorganised for the rest of the day. I literally never leave the house without having made my bed completely because if I don’t I honestly feel like the day is ruined.
Do you have a simple trick for staying productive throughout the day?
I always have a physical to do list on my desk that I write the night before and know I need to execute the next morning. I love physically crossing the tasks off the list too. It’s so satisfying.
What’s an easy life hack you use while travelling?
Packing cubes! They allow you to pack so much more than you would if you folded the clothes and I organise them in clothing categories from tops to dresses to pants and one for underwear. Then I have one for dirty clothes so I don’t mix clean and dirty together.
What’s one small habit or hack that helps you save money?
I subscribed to the Raiz app a few years ago. It’s linked to my debit card so every time I swipe my debit card it rounds up my purchase to the nearest dollar and transfers that portion to my Raiz account. It’s the simplest way to save without consciously transferring money each month.
Do you have one piece of advice you live by that can share with our readers?
Clean as you go. I HATE coming back into the kitchen after having dinner and being faced with a massive clean up from cooking and baking. I fanatically clean up as I’m cooking so I don’t sit on the couch dreading the end of night clean up after a meal.
