Who Perishes in Paradise? Our Predictions for The White Lotus Season 3 Finale

Since its debut in 2021, The White Lotus has become one of HBO’s most addictive and buzzed-about shows, an anthology that mixes biting satire, slow-burn suspense, and a juicy murder mystery set in a luxury resort. Created, written, and directed by Mike White (Enlightened, School of Rock), the series has carved out a unique identity, balancing social commentary with black comedy and shocking twists. Each season introduces a new cast of wealthy (and often insufferable) vacationers and the hotel staff who serve them, along with the looming promise that someone will end up dead.

The first season, set in Hawaii, won 10 Emmy Awards and launched Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya into meme-worthy stardom. Season 2 shifted the action to Sicily, digging into sex, betrayal, and power dynamics with another brilliant ensemble cast and an unforgettable operatic finale. Now, with Season 3 taking us to a White Lotus resort in Thailand, expectations were higher than ever. And if the season so far is any indication, we’re in for more spiritual chaos, moral rot and of course a floating body.

As is tradition, the season premiere teased at least one death and possibly more. A chaotic scene at the resort hinted at a mass shooting, a body in the water, and multiple possible suspects. So naturally, it’s time to start crafting theories: Who dies in The White Lotus Season 3?

Here’s what we know so far: The premiere ends with Belinda’s son, Zion, witnessing a dead body floating in the pool after gunshots erupt at the White Lotus resort in Thailand. The only people confirmed safe (so far) are Zion himself and Amrita, a hotel staffer leading him through a meditation session when the chaos begins. Zion runs toward the danger to find his mother, and that’s when the body drifts past.

While we can’t confirm the identity of the victim just yet, we’ve studied the scene closely (yes, we’ve rewatched it frame by frame), and we’re convinced the body is brunette, but who knows, water can make hair seem darker! Here are our predictions for the characters in the season finale.

Sritala Hollinger

Sritala, a Thai heiress turned spiritual patron, seems far removed from danger at first glance. But her husband has made enemies, including Rick, who blames him for his father’s death, and there’s always the looming threat of those masked gift shop robbers. We think she’ll be fine, safely ensconced in Bangkok, far away from the action, if she can survive Rick’s home visit of course.

Belinda

After returning in Season 3, Belinda is immediately tangled in something much darker than spa treatments. When she recognizes Greg, Tanya’s widower and alleged co-conspirator in her death, it makes her a liability. Greg knows she could expose him, and that puts her in the crosshairs. It feels too obvious to us that Greg will be pull the trigger and Belinda will be his target, but we aren’t ruling it out yet.

Timothy Ratliff

The once-proud Southern businessman is facing financial ruin, legal trouble, and public shame. When he shouted he’d “rather die than go to jail” in Episode 4, we knew we were headed for a meltdown. Again it feels too obvious that it will be Timothy.

Jaclyn

Mean girl Jaclyn is striving for attention. The Hollywood actress is playing a reckless game of vacation roulette, gaslighting her friends and hooking up with the help. We don’t think she will be caught up in the crossfire but we do think she will have a reckoning coming.

Greg

Let’s be honest, TWL fans would love to see Greg get his comeuppance for whatever part he played in Tanya’s demise. But that exact desire might keep him alive. Still, karma may catch up with him in a twist ending, or he could simply be collateral. One of ele our team has a theory, he’ll survive but will be the killer and will feature again in Season 4.

Victoria Ratliff

Piper, no! Timothy’s wife, Victoria, is emotionally distant and increasingly suspicious. With Timothy spiraling, he may feel compelled to take her out to save her for what’s coming – financial ruin, incestuous sons and a daughter becoming a Buddhist. Or she could simply be in the wrong place at the wrong time. We really hope Parker Posey’s Victoria survives this season, and we go on to see her in the next one.

Laurie

Caught in a twisted triangle between Jaclyn and Valentin, Laurie has been humiliated and sidelined all season. While she likely won’t pull a trigger, Valentin, and his sketchy friends, might escalate things far beyond a love triangle as the group attempts to extort Laurie’s actress friend, Jaclyn.

Piper Ratliff

Piper has emerged as the character most tied to Buddhism and discussions around death and reincarnation, classic White Lotus foreshadowing. The floating corpse in Episode 1 appears to have brown hair, which adds weight to this theory. The only way we see Piper ending up in the drink, is if she is caught between her brothers as they shoot it out after unsuccessfully dealing with their Full Moon party antics with Chloe.

Gaitok

As head of security, Gaitok’s proximity to danger is unavoidable. His crush on Mook may push him into hero mode during the shooting, making him an unfortunate casualty while trying to protect the guests or impress Mook.

Mook

Played by Blackpink’s Lisa Manobal, Mook is already a fan favorite. Losing her would be brutal, but narratively powerful. Gaitok’s obsession with her has ominous undertones, and if his protective masculinity flares up, she could be its tragic victim.

Saxon Ratliff

Saxon oozes chaos. Whether he’s repressing a violent streak or trying to protect the Ratliff family legacy (or dealing with the fallout with his brotherly love) he’s a prime candidate for snapping. We can’t help but think one of the Ratliff children are going to be a victim, and Saxon could be in danger at the hands of his brother.

Chloe

Chloe is Greg’s girlfriend, or, perhaps more accurately, his new victim. Being close to Greg is dangerous, especially if his shady past starts to catch up with him. Will she cover for him or expose him and inadvertently be his next victim.

Chelsea

Chelsea has already cheated death twice this season, once during the robbery, and again after a snake bite. She’s convinced bad luck comes in threes, and we kind of believe her. If she’s right, her time might be up, but again this feels too obvious so we are praying she keeps safe.

Rick

Rick is filled with rage, regret, and resentment, especially toward Sritala’s husband. But even though he’s fueled by revenge, Chelsea’s influence is softening him. That redemption arc might be what seals his fate. In classic White Lotus fashion, just as he finds peace… kaboom.

Lachlan

Little bro Lachlan has kept us guessing all season, his ‘shy boy gone wild’ persona isn’t fooling us at all but we think they only way he’ll end up floating in Thailand will be at the hands of an unhinged Saxon, or if he’s trying to keep his sister safe.

With only 2 episodes left, we can’t wait to see what Mike White pulls out of his bag for the season finale!
