A bathroom detox shouldn’t cost a lot, simply replace items as they run out with organic, clean and eco-friendly products. Try these 7 simple ways to remove chemicals form your bathroom.

1. Hand Wash and Moisturizer

Not only will the new breed of natural products look pretty on the bathroom shelf, they are also sulfate and paraben free, packed full of natural oils and ingredients. We love Bondi Wash in Sydney Peppermint & Rosemary and Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm. Also try eco-responsible products from Aussie brand, thankyou.

2. Install a Shower Head Filter

Adding a shower head filter to your shower will help to purify your water from chlorine, mercury, iron and copper. This simple switch will be better for your skin and hair and be kinder on your body. There are plenty of good options on the market, we like Sonaki and Vitamin Shower.

3. Use Organic Cotton Towels

Going organic wherever possible is always a good thing and with many brands now offering organic cotton there is little reason not too. These towels from Aussie brand Sheridan will ensure that you don’t have to compromise on style or quality in order to make the switch.

4. Update your Shampoo and Conditioner

We are huge fans of Eleven hair products, not only are they PETA approved cruelty free and paraben free but they also use 100% recycable packaging. Chemical air fresheners not only smell fake but can be packed full of a range of chemical nasties that aren’t necessary in the bathroom. Try essential oils, scented candles or natural sprays instead. We love Aesop’s Post Poo Drops to keep bad odours at bay and Bondi Wash Room and Linen Spray to freshen up any space.

6. Switch Your Toilet Paper

Off course thick, fluffy white toilet paper is going to feel better, but in order for it get that way it requires a lot of processing. Chlorine and chlorine dioxide are used to bleach the paper which is easily absorbed by our bodies. Try chlorine- free toilet paper that uses organic and recycled paper. Who Gives A Crap produces toilet paper that looks as good as it is good for you.
