Interview with Elisabeth Denk, Rose and Abraham Flower Farm

Life in the countryside doesn’t get much more idyllic than owning a flower farm, surrounding yourself daily with beautiful roses, zinnias, hydrangeas and peonies.

Reading about Elisabeth Denk’s, owner of Rose and Abraham Flower Farm, decision to restructure a paddock on her property to farm fresh flowers made us want to get in touch to find out more about what inspires her.

1. Where is your favourite travel destination?

At the moment Hong Kong. The food is amazing (Broccoli at the Chinese Restaurant at the Peninsula basically reinvents broccoli), the atmosphere is great and if you just want to relax, shop and eat, it is the place to be without having to cross the entire globe. Also, flower market? I mean, have you been to the flower market?

2. What is your go-to recipe to cook at home?

Tomato pasta – olive oil, salted black olives, can of tomatoes, salt, pepper. So simple, but good every time.

3. What can’t you live without in the garden?

Roses are truly amazing to produce such beauty. Apart from that, my rain wand. Watering has never been the same again.

5. What inspires you?

Beauty and good taste, but it’s more the atmosphere and mood that is created by the former. Or you may call it the interplay of ideas, vision, intention, and attention to detail that creates something new and unique.

5. Describe your perfect day

Sleep in. Breakfast in bed. Wander through the garden to check what’s new. Read. Catch up on some neglected Netflix binge watching. Come together for dinner with my boyfriend and son. RELAX.
