For Clinical Nutritionist and Cell Squared’s resident Nutrition Expert Emma Claire, weekends are less about switching off and more about tuning in—into her body, her routines, and the simple rituals that restore balance after a busy week. With a focus on whole foods, natural rhythms, and purposeful rest, Emma shares how she spends her weekends, from magnesium baths and farmers markets to sunset beach walks and batch-cooked stews. If you’ve ever wondered what a weekend of truly intentional wellness looks like, this is your guide.
Friday PM
After a full week, I love easing into the weekend with a nourishing wind-down. I’ll run a warm bath with Epsom salts to support relaxation and muscle recovery, then apply Cell Squared Magnesium Oil to the soles of my feet and across my abdomen to help calm the nervous system and support deep, restorative sleep. It’s a simple ritual that signals to my body it’s time to rest.
Saturday AM
I love a slow but productive start to the day. I let my body wake up naturally without an alarm and head outdoors for some morning sunlight with a walk or run. After that, I enjoy a protein-rich breakfast with eggs, greens, and sweet potato, plus a coffee no later than 11 am. As part of my typical morning routine, I take 6 of Cell Squared Organic Beef Spleen & Liver capsules to support my nutrient intake. I also love heading to my local farmers market to restock the fridge and pick up fresh, seasonal produce for the week ahead.
Saturday evenings are all about connecting with family and friends while turning off technology. Whether it’s trying out a new restaurant (I’m a foodie!) or just having a quiet night in with a home-cooked meal like a roast or BBQ, I love relaxing with good food, laughter, and great company. After the meal, I like to sip on a digestive tea like ginger or peppermint to support digestion, especially if I’ve eaten a larger meal and avoid eating 2-3 hours before bed to allow time for digestion.
Sunday AM
For me, Sunday mornings are for resetting and preparing for the week ahead. I spend time in the kitchen batch-cooking nutrient-dense meals like slow-cooked stews, bolognese, or rich curries. I like to take a nose-to-tail approach, often using cuts like beef cheeks or oxtail, parts that are not only flavourful but deeply nourishing.
Sunday PM
Sunday nights are all about winding down. I love going for a walk along the beach to catch the sunset or enjoying an infrared sauna session. I also plan an early dinner and set aside some time to sit down and journal for 10 minutes, writing out my goals for the week ahead. By 9 pm, I make sure I’m in bed, ready for sleep, to start the week fresh. I also listen to a guided meditation to help clear my mind and fully unwind before drifting off.
