It has been a tough year for the hospitality industry, particularly in Melbourne, so whenever we hear about a new restaurant or bar opening it is something we can all celebrate. Chef Matthew Butcher brings his latest creation to life with the opening of Ronnie’s in The Rialto Piazza.

The restaurant is Melbourne’s newest cicchetti (Italian tapas) haunt, where diners will be hit with a wave of nostalgia, warmth and familiarity. The name, Ronnie’s, pays homage to Matthew’s father, a country boy and humble cook with a heart of gold and values to match.

Signature dishes on the menu will include a homemade sourdough focaccia, vitello tonnato toastie, cacio e pepe inspired jaffles and Ronnie’s spin on New York’s infamous vodka pasta.
The space is perfectly located for city diners on Collins Street and is no stranger to excellent food as it was previously occupied by Guy Grossi’s Merchant.

Expect high quality New York style dishes that are designed to be shared. We are excited about trying the Spaghetti + Vodka and Chilli Sardines Toast, just two of the delicious dishes diners can expect. Ronnie’s will open on Wednesday 7 April.
