Here at ELE we are committing to testing cult beauty buys to give you our honest opinion before you fork out your hard earned dollars, and when a beauty product requires a serious cash outlay like this powerhouse product, it’s time to put it to the test.
It’s common knowledge that a Vitamin C serum is an essential in any skincare regime to firm and improve skin texture, brighten skin and protect against free radicals. And with every dermatologist and skincare specialist from Melanie Grant to Shereen Idriss using C E Ferulic in their daily routine it’s time to take note.
‘A daytime vitamin C serum that delivers advanced environmental protection and improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, and brightens skin’s complexion’.
This serum first came on to the market in 2005 after 40 years of development and has remained the gold standard for C serums ever since. It is a clinical skincare product, backed by science that has rave reviews from users across the globe.
At $200 AUD, and about $160 in the US, Skinceuticuls C E Ferulic requires a serious investment. While the price may be eye-watering, you only need 4-5 drops per use of this precious liquid gold so the bottle will last for quite a while (shelf life is 3 months).
The true test though is whether this product can live up to its hype. The first morning we applied the serum we saw an immediate improvement in our skins overall brightness and texture. It was a little tingly on first application, then settled quickly. Followed up by a big moisture dose courtesy of Weleda’s Skin Food (our new favourite cheap beauty buy) our skin was super bright and glowy. A few days in and the results were more profound, our skin was more hydrated, texture was refined and it was definitely brighter.
The next test will be after using this serum for a few more weeks when noticeable improvements in fine lines and pigmentation should be more apparent.
Is it worth the $$$? For us absolutely yes, while we would of course prefer it was a much more affordable price (we are addicted now which is an expensive problem!), it is one product where we have truly seen a difference in our skin after a few uses.

Of course SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic isn’t the only great Vitamin C serum we have used. If you are after something a little more affordable we also love Aspect’s Extreme C 20 and Alpha-H’s Vitamin C.
