ELE Review: Intercontinental London – The O2

Affordable five-star luxury hotels are as rare as hen’s teeth in London so we were both suprised and excited to spend a few days at the beautiful Intercontinental London – The O2.  While the hotel isn’t located in the heart of central London, it is only a quick tube trip away (Jubilee line- 24 minutes to Bond Street) and is conveniently located close to the historic North Greenwich precinct, O2 Arena, Canary Wharf and London City Airport. The hotel is contemporary- serene luxury with floor to ceiling glass windows and beautiful views of the Thames and Canary Wharf. There is a subtle nautical theme throughout and a relaxing day spa with pool, steam and sauna facilities. The beautiful rooms are fitted out with plush, ultra-comfortable king beds, Bose sound systems and espresso machines. The Clipper Bar on level one is perfect for a drink but for serious wow factor head to the glamorous Eighteen Sky Bar on level 18 which boasts spectacular views across the city.  Our favourite part of the experience was the great service, large rooms and the quiet, peaceful location – such a rarity in busy London.
