Blackberry and Banana Cinnamon Smoothie

Blackberries may not be the first berry you think of when you go to make your morning smoothie, however these delicious deep purple fruits are packed full of essential nutrients, Vitamins C, A, K and B, fibre and antioxidants.

Blackberries grow on brambles and they grow wildly out of control (they have become a pest in many parts of Australia), so our suggestion is to leave the growing of these shrubs to the professionals and buy your blackberries direct from your local fruit shop or farmer’s market.

The fruit is sweet with just a touch of tartness, which pairs great with potassium-packed bananas and creamy yogurt. This smoothie will fill you up and fuel you the right way to start your day.

Kids love this smoothie too, the pretty pink hue and will have them thinking they are in for a delicious treat!
