Fried cheese, sweet honey and fragrant herbs – what’s not to love! This fried feta dish is delicious served with our Australian Damper Bread recipe.
1 thick piece of full fat feta cheese (150g)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Sprig of fresh thyme
Local or good quality honey, to drizzle
- Add oil to a cast iron or steel pan and once hot add the block of feta cheese.
- Sprinkle over thyme and cook both sides until the feta is a golden nutty brown.
- Drizzle with honey and cracked pepper serve immediately with crusty bread or damper.
- The feta will be golden brown and can be served straight from the pan all melty and hot. Perfect with cold beer or a glass of white wine as a starter!
