Pan-fried Feta Cheese with Thyme and Honey

Fried cheese, sweet honey and fragrant herbs – what’s not to love! This fried feta dish is delicious served with our Australian Damper Bread recipe.


1 thick piece of full fat feta cheese (150g)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Sprig of fresh thyme
Local or good quality honey, to drizzle
Cracked pepper


  1. Add oil to a cast iron or steel pan and once hot add the block of feta cheese.
  2. Sprinkle over thyme and cook both sides until the feta is a golden nutty brown.
  3. Drizzle with honey and cracked pepper serve immediately with crusty bread or damper.
  4. The feta will be golden brown and can be served straight from the pan all melty and hot. Perfect with cold beer or a glass of white wine as a starter!
