Eat: No Bake Chocolate Hazelnut Slice

We aren’t even going to try to convince you that there is anything healthy about this delicious no-bake chocolate hazelnut slice – it is pure decadence. However every once in a while (ok most afternoons!), everyone deserves a sweet treat and this slice is exactly that – crunchy biscuits, nutty hazelnuts, flaky almonds and sweet, sweet chocolate combine to make a delicious slice perfect for afternoon tea. It is so moor- ish, just try limiting yourself to one slice, trust us it is almost impossible.

Ingredients

3/4 of a tin of condensed milk

110 grams of flaked almonds

200 grams of plain, sweet biscuits – milk arrowroot, rich tea biscuits or any plain sweet biscuits will work

1 tablespoon of honey

125 grams of butter

50 grams of whole hazelnuts

360 grams of dark or milk chocolate (both work great)

Method

Crush biscuits with a rolling pin or pulse in a food processor making sure to not over process so that there are still nice pieces of biscuits left in the mix. If you are using a rolling pin we suggest placing the biscuits in a plastic bag and sealing tight before crushing so that the biscuit crumbs don’t go everywhere. Once crushed, place biscuits into a large mixing bowl and add flaked almonds.

In a saucepan heat condensed milk, honey and butter until all ingredients are fully combined and butter is melted through.

Pour condensed milk mix over the crushed biscuits and almonds and stir until thoroughly combined.

Spoon mix in to a tin (approx 28 x 20cm) lined with baking paper and using a large spoon flatten mix out to edges and press down until the top is smooth. Set aside.

Place a metal bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and gently melt chocolate until it is fully melted. Remove from heat and stir through whole hazelnuts.

Pour the chocolate hazelnut mix over the slice base and smooth to edges.

Place in fridge and refrigerate for about 2 to 3 hours until the slice is fully set. Remove from fridge, cut in to squares and serve. Enjoy!
